Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is the best way of life saving if it is done before permanent damage to the brain. Since increasing survival rate is the main task of CPR team in each hospital, this study tried to find out the relation between survival rate in centric and non-centric CPR teams. Methods: This was a binary cohort study carried out in 2001. The sample size was 120 patients under CPR, hospitalized in selected hospitals of Isfahan University of Medical Science (Iran) selected through convenient sampling method. The data collection tool was a checklist covering patients' demographic information and past history on cardiorespiratory arrest, CPR specifics and CPR outcomes. Results were analyzed with descriptive statistics through SPSS software. Results: The results showed a significant relation between survival rate and type of CPR team (P=000). There was also significant relation between survival rate and survival length (P=0. 02). Conclusions: According to these findings, type of CPR is very important in patients' survival. Centric CPR team can increase survival rate. Then, it is necessary that managers of hospitals construct centric CPR teams or try to adopt reasonable strategies such as using best CPR specialist workshop for non-centric CPR teams to enjoy their jobs and to increase survival rates of patients.http://ijnmr.mui.ac.ir/index.php/ijnmr/article/view/240
